Geriatric Psychiatry Center
Welcome

Aging sometimes presents challenges that older adults find difficult to overcome. The loss of lifetime companions decreased physical and mental capabilities and the resulting loss of independence can be overwhelming. When these losses lead to confusion, depression or other types of behavioral problems, additional help may be needed. The University of Toledo Medical Center Geriatric Psychiatry Center is available to provide the needed care and treatment. With effective therapy, medications, and coping skills, independence can be maintained or improved, to provide a more satisfying lifestyle.

Because of our collaborative efforts with the Center for Successful Aging and the Office of Geriatric Medicine, patients and their families benefit from the clinical research and educational endeavors currently underway at UT and in the community. Our patients and their families have easy access to a resource library in the Center for Successful Aging that is home to over 700 books, 100 videos and 150 brochures on topics related to aging.
